Pallet flow racking.
FIFO gravity flow. Load one end, pick the other. Date-sensitive inventory rotates itself — common in food, beverage, and pharma. Multi-deep lanes, 4–12 pallets deep, engineered and installed across the GTA.
FIFO that rotates itself.
Pallets store several deep on inclined gravity rollers. Load at the high end; the oldest pallet flows down to the pick face at the low end. First in, first out — no manual rotation, no buried stock. Best for date-sensitive product where shelf-life and lot-rotation matter more than per-SKU selectivity.
Why pallet flow racking? Because date-sensitive inventory must rotate FIFO without manual intervention. Gravity-flow rollers move pallets from load to pick face automatically. Standard in food, beverage, and pharma operations.
The components, labeled.
Four parts do the work in a pallet-flow lane — the pitched roller bed, the speed controllers, the front stop, and gravity. Load the back, pick the front.
Roller Bed
A full-depth roller bed pitches down from the load face to the pick face at roughly 4 percent. Pallets travel the lane on the rollers by gravity alone.
Speed Controller (Brake)
Brake rollers spaced along the bed govern how fast a pallet can travel. Heavy loads arrive at the pick face at a controlled speed instead of accelerating down the lane.
Front Stop
A fixed stop at the pick face holds the lead pallet square to the aisle. The forklift lifts the pallet clear and the lane indexes forward behind it.
Pallet Flowing on Rollers
Pallets load at the rear and arrive at the front in arrival order — first in, first out. Date-coded product rotates itself: the oldest pallet is always the next pick.

Where pallet flow racking wins.
Date-sensitive inventory
FIFO ensures the oldest pallet is always picked first. Critical for food, beverage, pharma, and any expiry-driven product.
Decouple load + pick
Load end and pick end are on opposite aisles. Receiving and shipping work independently — no aisle conflicts.
High throughput SKUs
Where the same SKU cycles 20+ pallets/day. Pallet flow keeps the pick face replenished without manual intervention.

Where pallet flow earns its keep.
Food, beverage, and pharma distribution where lots must rotate by date and the same SKU cycles fast. Send your warehouse dimensions + SKU profile + throughput target. We'll come back with an engineer-stamped layout + itemized quote within 5 business days. Engineer-stamped drawings are available where the permit or your insurer requires them.
