Accessibility Statement
416INDUSTRIAL INC. is committed to providing an accessible, inclusive website experience for all visitors, including people with disabilities. This statement explains our accessibility commitment, our current standard, and how you can request content in an alternative format.
1. Our Commitment
We follow the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Our accessibility goal is that every visitor — whether using a screen reader, keyboard-only navigation, high-contrast display, voice control, or any other assistive technology — can find the information they need and request the services they want.
2. Current Conformance Status
We have completed an internal accessibility audit (VPAT-2.5-ACR format) covering homepage, all service pages, all product pages, the quote wizard, both calculators, and informational content. As of 2026-05-18:
- WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA: we substantially conform with limited exceptions documented in our internal VPAT.
- WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA: we are actively bringing the site into conformance with the nine new WCAG 2.2 criteria, including 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured (sticky navigation scroll-padding-top), 2.5.8 Target Size, 3.3.7 Redundant Entry, and 3.3.8 Accessible Authentication. We expect full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance by the AODA reporting deadline of 2026-12-31.
- AODA private-sector reporting: we will file the required accessibility compliance report by 2026-12-31 in accordance with O. Reg. 191/11.
3. Accessibility Features We’ve Built In
- Skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page
- Proper landmark structure (
<header>,<nav>,<main>,<footer>,role="banner",role="navigation",role="main",role="contentinfo") - Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements (focus-visible CSS)
- Body text contrast ratios that meet or exceed 4.5:1 against background (WCAG AA)
- Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images; empty alt for decorative images
- Keyboard-navigable forms with labels, error messages, and autocomplete attributes
- Mobile responsive layout with tap targets of at least 24×24 CSS pixels
- Cookieless analytics that respects the Do Not Track browser preference
4. Known Issues We’re Working On
We’re transparent about gaps we’re actively closing:
- Reduced motion respect: we are adding
@media (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce)support to disable hero animations and decorative motion for users who opt out of motion. - Sticky-nav focus: we are adding
scroll-padding-topto the document root to ensure keyboard-focused elements never hide behind the sticky navigation (WCAG 2.4.11). - Customer photography: our case study photography is currently stock/representative; we’re actively documenting real customer installations (with permission) to replace stock imagery.
- French (Fr-CA) translation: the language toggle exists in the header but full French translation is not yet deployed. Available 2026-Q3.
If you find an accessibility barrier we haven’t named above, please tell us — we treat accessibility reports as high priority.
